A post-data-collection party with participants! Ryssa shared preliminary results from her study on intergenerational friendships with participants and lab-mates at the Dozentenfoyer

The data collection for Ryssa’s ongoing work on intergenerational relationship development took place from November 2023 to June 2024. We collected an amazing data set with the help of 122 of Zurich's finest young adults and senior citizens.
61 pairs of participants attended 6 sessions each, where they got to know each other, created a lot of art with pastels from Caran D’Ache, and completed collaborative tasks. At each of the 6 visits we recorded how their relationships evolved using questionnaires, mobile brain imaging (fNIRS) and motion tracking. As a result, we have 732 brain recordings, 1464 drawings and soooo much more rich data. The celebration:

On December 6th 2024, we hosted an apero at the Dozentenfoyer to thank our participants again and shared our preliminary findings with them. We also challenged each pair to find their collaborative drawing in our gallery, and we took notes with participants feedback on the study and our analyses to date. The experience of celebrating with participants was extremely energising and inspiring. So much so, that we hope to host similar events for future experiments. So very well done, Ryssa and team!
