Prof. Dr. Emily Cross

A dancer and cognitive neuroscientist by training, Emily Cross leads the Professorship for Social Brain Sciences at ETH Zürich. Her dynamic team embraces interdisciplinarity to explore questions concerning how we learn via observation, acquire expertise, derive aesthetic pleasure from performing and visual artworks, and effectively collaborate with embodied robots via research paradigms that bridge technology, arts, and the biological and social sciences. In addition to building bridges across disciplines and research approaches, Emily is passionate about training the next generation of research scientists, with a particular focus on the many manifestations of research ethics.

When not sciencing, Emily loves traveling and exploring the glorious mountains, rivers, and lakes of Switzerland with her two young sons.
