Luca Marie Leisten

Luca Marie Leisten is a joint doctoral student in learning sciences and human-robot interaction at ETHZ and EPFL since August 2023. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a research Master’s degree in Behavioral Science from Radboud University, specializing in the social aspects of human-robot interaction.
With a background in social sciences, external page Luca’s research focuses on social robot companions in the learning domain. Specifically, she is interested in investigating how social robots can enhance learning through socio-emotional support across different age groups and different cognitive learning tasks. Luca approaches this through a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods. The goal of Luca’s research is to explore the possible benefits and limitations of social robots to support individuals with learning difficulties.
In her free time, Luca enjoys hiking and biking, spending time with her dog, and drinking lots of coffee.
