David Crevillén Hernández

David Crevillén Hernández joined the Social Brain Sciences group as a doctoral student in October 2023. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master's degree in Machine Learning for Health from the University Carlos III of Madrid. He is also on the cusp of completing a second Master's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Utrecht.

Coming from an engineering background, David is interested in neuroscience and the inner workings of the human mind — its perception of self, the body, and the surrounding world. He explores this through a mixture of behavioral, neuropsychological, and physiological methods, with the support of Virtual Reality environments.

He is currently part of the HORIZON EU "IntelliMan" project. As a member, he explores the neuropsychological and physiological factors that lead humans to accept cutting-edge AI-driven robotic systems, such as those used in upper limb prosthetics, daily-life tasks, and manufacturing.

In his free time, David enjoys hiking, swimming, or reading near the lake.
