Raphael Fournier

Fournier Raphael is a doctoral student in the International PhD Program in Neuroscience with the ETHZ since October 2023. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Lausanne. His Bachelor's project focused on the effect of motivation on visuo-spatial memory. After a one-year internship at the Laboratory of the Brain and Cognitive Development (University of Lausanne), he then received his Master’s degree in Neuroscience from Geneva University, where he studied how cognitive fatigue affects behavioral and physiological responses to pain. After and during his studies, he worked with different laboratories to increase his programming skills and widen his research fields of interest.

During his PhD, Raphaël is interested in how people perceive and interact within the social world. More specifically, he will focus on using an evidence accumulation modelling approach to study and analyze the psychological processes underlying the person recognition mechanism.

In his free time, he likes to spend some time outside, either running or reading in a park. He also enjoys playing board games and spending time with his friends.
