Haralambos Dafas

Haralambos Dafas is a current doctoral student at the external page Social AI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) at the University of Glasgow. He has a background in applying computing science to diverse fields of interest. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, with a project focusing on detecting online echo chambers, from Cardiff University. This was followed by a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence (also Cardiff University), where he automated the transcription of drum beats in music from audio to MIDI.

For his PhD, Haralambos is researching human-robot interaction, with a particular focus on interactions with quadruped robots. He is interested in the usage of diverse zoomorphic, as opposed to anthropomorphic, behaviors in these robots and their effects on user acceptance and trust. This will hopefully better inform the future design of such robots, making them easier for new users to understand.

In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, playing bass guitar, playing video games and board games, and practicing martial arts.
